The Bitter Bottle
The Bitter Bottle needed our studio’s help creating packaging for their line of bitters and tinctures, as well as a shipping box that matched their brand.
Each label is designed based on the ingredients in the product, and hand-drawn and curated into the label’s dimensions. This custom touch on each product extends the feeling of handcrafted and high attention to detail that is clear throughout the Bitter Bottle’s product line.
The Process
From the start, there was a clear focus on understanding the complexity and craft of the product. Watching Kaleena, The Bitter Bottle’s owner, go through her bitters creation process guided our own design process.
There was a clear need for a stand-out label that differentiated Bitter Bottle products from each other, while remaining cohesive under brand standards. Custom illustrations were created, featuring the ingredients used in individual products.
The project required extensive paper and container research, as well as communicating with the printer. Specialty inks were used to help Bitter Bottle stand out.
